Rate Confirmation
The contract document brokers send to carriers confirming the load details and the agreed rate.
A Rate Confirmation (rate con) is the document a freight broker sends to a carrier confirming the agreed terms of a load: pickup and delivery details, commodity, weight, equipment, and the rate. The carrier signs and returns it to lock in the load.
The rate con is technically a contract — by signing, the carrier agrees to the broker's terms, including payment terms (often net-30), detention rules, accessorials, and dispute language.
Modern carriers ingest rate cons digitally — the AI parses the document, extracts pickup/delivery info, populates the load in dispatch, and the driver gets the load on their phone in seconds instead of minutes.
